Dr. L. James and Jackie Harvey were
born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They have been married
for 59 years and have 4 children, 8 grand children, and 2 great grand children. Dr. Harvey
is an honors graduate of Hope College in Holland, Michigan and
he has MA and Ph.D. degrees from Michigan State University.
Dr. Harvey has been a high school teacher and coach, a college
dean, vice president, and president, and a senior vice president
and partner in an international management consulting firm based
in Washington D.C. Jackie Harvey was a full time homemaker and
mother until her children were grown when she resumed her career
as an executive secretary and administrative assistant. She
served for many years until retirement as the administrative
assistant to the Director of the Department of Corrections in
Prince George's County, Maryland. |

Dr. Harvey has had wide experience in speaking, teaching,
and in presenting workshops and seminars all over the USA
and overseas. Speaking largely to college and university faculties
and staffs he gained national recognition as a speaker and
consultant in the area of college and university management.
He also published several books and articles in his field
of expertise. Dr. and Mrs. Harvey have been active Christian
laypersons wherever they have been. Both have been elders,
Sunday school teachers, and have held numerous church leadership
positions in two denominations, the Reformed Church in America,
and the Moravian Church in America. Dr. Harvey has also served
terms as a trustee on seminary boards in both denominations. They are now members of the Calvary Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Since retirement Dr. Harvey has begun a new career as a Christian
writer and speaker focusing on matters related to the Christian
faith. He has written 10 books and is working on two others.
Jackie Harvey has co-authored two books that have been published.
Both Harveys are also active
in volunteer work and have now returned to Grand Rapids, Michigan
where they were born and raised. Else where on this web site
